Diagnosis

There are many tests used to diagnose a neuroendocrine tumor (NET).  A doctor will take patient factors into consideration, including general health, age, symptoms, type of NET suspected, and results of other medical tests.

The management of NET disease poses a significant challenge because of the heterogeneous clinical presentations and varying degrees of aggressiveness.

Treatment

Comprehensive NET treatment requires a multidisciplinary team of doctors and other health care professionals.  The multidisciplinary team works together to develop a treatment plan.  Treatment options depend upon the patient's overall health, stage and grade of cancer, type of NET and possible side effects.

Regional NET Education

NANETS comprehensive, one-day regional NET Education programs are offered in conjunction with local cancer centers to provide multidisciplinary training to medical professionals across North America. Local physicians, advanced practice professionals and nurses come together with leaders in neuroendocrine medicine to educate and discuss NET disease and patient care in the community and across the U.S. Participants learn about standard management of patients with neuroendocrine tumors, as well as new diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

These programs are CME, MOC and CNE credit approved
